Asher Beck founded Music Mentorship Matters as a dual-enrolled high school sophomore  / college-level musician, accomplished trumpet player, and passionate advocate for music education and mentorship. 

While in middle school and high school, Asher was  constantly seeking new ways to grow as a musician but discovered  that finding information often presented a challenge. Valuable opportunities existed throughout local communities, but the information was scattered across countless school websites, social media pages, organization newsletters, and community calendars. Finding them often required hours of research and a great deal of persistence.

Those experiences became the inspiration behind Music Mentorship Matters!

Music Mentorship Matters was created to serve as a centralized resource for aspiring musicians and their families—a place where students can easily discover performance opportunities, educational programs, honor ensembles, competitions, scholarships, and mentorship resources without having to search dozens of different sources. The goal is simple: make opportunities more accessible so that students can spend less time searching and more time growing.

Asher believes that every young musician deserves the chance to reach their full potential. By connecting students with meaningful opportunities and sharing knowledge gained through his own musical journey, Music Mentorship Matters seeks to encourage curiosity, inspire growth, and help the next generation of musicians confidently pursue their goals.

Throughout his musical journey, Asher has earned selection to more than 50+ honor bands, elite ensembles, college/university bands, and prestigious performance groups. His dedication to musical excellence has taken him beyond the United States, including study-abroad experiences in France and Germany, where he explored music through international performance and cultural exchange opportunities.

A member of the 2025–2026 Michigan All-State Band, Asher believes that music has the power to inspire, connect, and transform lives. Through Music Mentorship Matters, he is committed to helping educate, encourage, and support the next generation of aspiring musicians by sharing his experiences, knowledge, and passion for lifelong musical growth.
